Where to Watch the Bundesliga
Rights holders by country, checked August 2026
The Bundesliga is the most accessible major European league in Britain, and by some distance. Three separate broadcasters carry it, one of them free, which means a British viewer can follow the season without paying for anything at all if they are content with one match a week.
That is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly, because the assumption runs the other way: foreign leagues are normally harder to reach than the domestic one, and here it is the reverse.
Confirmed rights holders
| Country | Shown by | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom and Ireland | Sky Sports, Amazon Prime Video, BBC | Sky Sports carries live matches, Amazon Prime Video has exclusive rights to the Sunday fixtures, and the BBC streams the Friday night match. All three arrangements cover 2025-26 and 2026-27, which makes the Bundesliga unusually accessible in Britain, with one match a week available at no extra cost. |
Checked against published sources in August 2026. Where sources disagreed the market is left out rather than guessed at. The competition's own list is at Bundesliga official site and stays current in a way a hand-kept table does not.
Three broadcasters, and how the week splits
The split follows the German matchday. Friday night goes to the BBC, which streams it at no cost. Sunday fixtures are exclusive to Amazon Prime Video. Sky Sports carries the Saturday programme, which is the bulk of the round and includes the Saturday afternoon block that German television built its reputation on.
For a viewer in Britain the question becomes which part of the week matters to you. Anyone following one club should check where that club's fixtures tend to fall before paying for anything.

Several betting operators stream live matches to account holders. The account is free and no deposit is needed to watch, but it does have to exist: the stream will not play until you are signed in. Operators can only carry what they hold rights to in your country, so the available fixtures vary by where you are and some markets have none.
Questions
Can I watch the Bundesliga free in the UK?
The Friday night match is streamed by the BBC at no cost. The rest of the round is split between Sky Sports and Amazon Prime Video.
Why are Sunday matches only on Amazon?
Amazon Prime Video holds exclusive UK and Ireland rights to the Sunday fixtures for 2025-26 and 2026-27. No other British broadcaster can show them live.
Is one subscription enough to follow a single club?
It depends which club. Fixtures rotate across Friday, Saturday and Sunday through the season, so a side you follow closely will appear on all three services at some point.
