Reading the round
Italian rounds are spread thinly across the weekend with three slots a day, and the schedule is built so that the two biggest fixtures rarely clash. It makes Serie A the easiest of the four to follow live from another country.
Form here counts only finished matches, so a club with a game in hand looks worse than it is. Home and away records matter more than they look in a league this early: two home wins from two says less about a club than the same two results in November will.
Betting on this round

The fixtures worth a second look are the ones where the table and the form disagree: a club sitting high after a soft opening, or one near the bottom that has played the two hardest away games available.
